Great yarns, great music and a little bit of bocce

That’s what’s in store on the banks of The Mehi on the second weekend of September, 2017.

The first year was a bit wet but a whole lotta fun.

The feedback has been fantastic so it's on again in 2017.

Over a few on-site beers in 2015, local blokes Mitch Johnstone and Muz Hartin took the punt to establish a music and yarn-spinning festival on the banks of The Mehi River on the property “Wandoona”, just 5km from Moree.

They learnt as they went along, eased their way into it and, with unbelievable support from the Moree community, came through the other side with the realisation Magic on the Mehi has the potential to be a major fixture on the Aussie Festival scene.

Golden Guitar-winner and all-round good bloke Luke O'Shea was a huge hit at the inaugural event and will be back again in 2017.

As will comedian Al Glover and Muz himself will be on deck to spin a few of his favourites such as Turbulence, Rain From Nowhere and the Hog Whisperer.

There are a few surprises in store and more local talent on display.

The Friday night opening concert will again be a combination of comedy, poetry and music.

Saturday afternoon will again be all about the kids who will have the chance, individually or in groups, to get up on stage and have a crack at a poem, a monologue or a song.

Saturday night will be headlined by Luke O'Shea. Al and Muz will also be on deck along and their will be a few more musical surprises.

The Festival will wind up on Sunday morning with a Poet's Breaky, some more good music and some of the kids will get another chance to strut their stuff.

There will be a licensed bar on Friday and Saturday, BBQs, bocce, quoits and plenty of fun so mark it on the calendar – Friday, September 8, Saturday, Sdptember 9 and Sunday, September 10, 2017.

On-site camping will be available as well as a lot of other accommodation options in Moree.

Bring your swimmers and take a dip at The Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre.

Throw in your golf clubs and have a round at the fantastic Moree Golf Course.

Toss in your fishing gear and see if you can catch a cod.

And if you like your water sports, check out the world class Moree Ski Park.

There's plenty to do.
